Affiliate FoundationsAn affiliate is a separate legal entity with an autonomous governing board in control of all grantmaking decisions. Establishing an affiliate foundation allows you to retain control of your giving without handling the extensive legal and financial paperwork needed to create and run a private foundation. Coastal Community Foundation staff handles the financial management of assets, provides grantmaking and technical assistance, and offers all nonprofit information needed to ease giving decisions. Affiliate foundations also enable donors to remain anonymous, if so desired.
