About Us

Coastal Community Foundation began in 1974 with $9,000 from The Rotary Club of Charleston to serve the tri-county area. Today we manage over $103 million in combined assets held in over 532 individual funds. Thousands of donors are served and charitable organizations supported throughout the eight coastal Carolina counties. Our expertise and responsible management eliminates bias and minimizes risk, leaving donors secure to look forward and give back.

Coastal Community Foundation provides personalized service to support our philanthropic donors. As a donor you will have access to the full array of the Foundation's professional services, including the following:

CHARITABLE ADVISORY
Donor's informed and effective giving is largely a result of our staff's extensive knowledge of area charitable organizations, including their history, accomplishments and impact.

FUND DESIGN
Named fund agreements are uniquely designed to fulfill donor's particular charitable interests and goals.

GIFT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Gift acknowledgement letters are sent to all donors.

GIFT PLANNING ASSISTANCE
Estimates of benefits and detailed planned gift information is provided for you and your financial and legal advisors.

GRANTMAKING AND EVALUATION
Management of your entire grant cycle, as directed by your fund agreement, is handled by us. Every effort is made to ensure that grant recipients are reputable and their services beneficial to the community.

INVESTMENT AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Quarterly Fund Statements, investment reports and grantmaking activity are provided regularly. We additionally file all necessary IRS reports and conduct annual audits on every fund.
