Each year, 4% of the the average fund balance is available for grantmaking, with the remaining principal serving as a renewable source of charitable giving forever. FOUNDATION FEESLEARN MOREThe cost of providing services to endowment funds is calculated as 1% of the balance for funds under $1 million in size, decreasing in a stepped fashion as fund size increases (see below).
