Endowed GivingDo you care about a particular community issue? Anne Marie Kathryn White did. She cared deeply about the needs of children, so she left a bequest in her will to Coastal Community Foundation to create a fund that would respond to their needs. Ms. White, however, was savvy enough to realize that specific charities come and go, so she requested that her fund be Field-of-Interest, allowing the Foundation to direct her annual giving to the organizations that best serve the needs of youth. Because Ms. White endowed her fund, not only does it still give today, but it will continue to do so forever:
She simply cared enough to plan for the needs of others. She truly embodies the idea that you plant a tree knowing that others will benefit from its shade long after you are gone. |
