Designated FundsA Designated fund is the ideal way for donors to permanently support one or more specific charities. The earnings of these funds annually award grants to the donor's organization(s) of choice. Funds may be added to at any time, receiving the maximum tax benefit allowable with each new gift. The original intent of Designated funds will always be preserved by giving the Foundation Board authority to reallocate donor's funds should the original organization cease to exist. DONOR STORY: The late Jerry Zucker and his wife Anita have long been at the forefront of Lowcountry philanthropy. Through their interaction with the community, the Zuckers were well acquainted with many charitable organizations and desired to permanently help those about which they were most passionate. Both Jerry and Anita embody a resilient optimism, believing that change is always possible. Through creation of Designated funds to support charities such as Crisis Ministries, Hotline and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, they are able to express this optimism by perpetually supporting their favored organizations. |
