ABOUT PHILANTHROPY WEEK:
2009 Philanthropy Week events include panel discussions, educational workshops and grant award ceremonies recognizing both nonprofit agencies and donors for their extraordinary work in our communities. A calendar of the week’s events is attached.

Mission: Through this collaborative effort, the groups and leaders are aiming to highlight and strengthen the importance of philanthropy to our community’s economy and overall quality of life. The week’s events are intended to broaden our community’s understanding of how philanthropy can provide solutions for our community ills as well as enhance our way of life in the Lowcountry.

Lead Partners: Center for Women, Coastal Community Foundation, Lowcountry chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Women Making a Difference, and the Junior League of Charleston. Each of these organizations will be hosting an event during Philanthropy Week focusing on a particular aspect of community giving and need.

Sponsor: The official sponsor of Philanthropy Week 2009 is South Carolina Bank and Trust.
