RELIEF FOR HAITI
01/19/2010

The relief efforts in Haiti continue to be slow and inadequate as the need for immediate and basic human services are unrelenting and persistent. The devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12th has caused a humanitarian disaster in the country and although the world is trying to respond, more help is needed specifically in the form of monetary donations.

The best way to help is to make a monetary donation directly to a reputable organization that is experienced in disaster relief and has a presence in the country. Among the many excellent agencies providing these services are the following nonprofit organizations (with direct links to donate):

American Jewish World Service: http://ajws.org/get_involved/take_action.html

American Red Cross: http://www.redcross.org/

Donor advisors interested in making a gift from their fund should contact Ashley Cooper at 843-723-5736 ext. 107.
